I am configuring a new install of the WSN Gallery 2.3.7 and have been playing with rating images.

Thus far I have just hit the "Submit Rating" button on the <vote.php?id=1> page and then I get a "Your vote has been recorded, thanks." page and the image is rated. I needed to rename a category and have since discovered that when I go to rate images now I get a confirm vote page , <vote.php?action=vote&id=1>, but everything stops there. If I manually add the string <&votevalue=3> to the URL I can get the system to finish. That is go to the vote recorded redirect page and back to the category with the image is rated.

The script works fine otherwise and changing back the category name does not correct the problem.

Any ideas why the voting is not working properly now when it was before?

The script is intall on a Windows NT server.

Sounds like a template issue with the form, but I couldn't say unless you post a link or the actual html output.

I seem to be finding that the voting flips between working and not working without me touching the script or templates.

Last night I did a quick check and found that a vote was accepted but today voting gets stalled at the confirm vote screen, a screen I don't see when voting is functioning.

The script is found at http://www.hudsondesign.ca/share%2Da%2Dtree/.

Looks to me like it works. I voted, it said my vote was counted, and the image (Test B) now has the 5 star rating I gave it.

The confirmation screen is only for off-site votes, I don't see it.

OK, after further testing it seems to depend on the brower whether I can vote or not. Safari and IE bring me to a confirm vote page. FireFox on both Mac and PC allows me to vote without the confirm vote page.

How can I deactivate the confirm vote screen? I am planning on allowing guests to vote. The member system is turned off.

Admin -> Settings -> Images & Files -> Display a confirmation screen for votes coming from off-site?

Sure you don't have referrer-blocking software installed in IE and FF? Never heard of problems with them before. I was testing with Opera 9 on Linux.

Sorry... I can not find "Admin -> Settings -> Images & Files -> Display a confirmation screen for votes coming from off-site?". Is it under the "Image Settings" or "File Settings" column? I have been going cross-eyed trying to find that toggle on my own for the last week or so.

FYI: I have not done anything with the script over the last two days and now I get the confirm vote screen for all platforms and browsers. Everytime I think I can put my finger on why it is working or not working now my theory gets disproved.

Could there be something else at the server, or data base level that could change the way the script works at different times? At this point I am wondering about things other than the script... Dumb question... what defines an "off-site vote"?

I think it must be something about your computer or account somehow, because it still works for me on your site -- thus it can't be something about your server. Voted from Firefox 2.0 this time and it still happily accepted my vote (see the 5 star vote at www.hudsondesign.ca/share-a...-a-tree/comments.php?id=23 ).

Off-site vote is defined by when the refering url registered is a different domain name than the one your WSN Gallery is on. That's so people can't cheat by putting a rigged voting form on their site for which all the possible vote options are "excellent".

I was looking at my development 3.0.0 version before... when I look at the released 2.3.7 I can't find the option either. Run this query then to make sure it's off (from either phpmyadmin or the admin->advanced page, doesn't matter):
UPDATE wsngallery_settings SET content='no' WHERE name='confirmvote';
