I'm running v 3.21 on a Windows2003 server with IIS.
I was wondering if there is any way of making category/sub-category titles appear in their respective URL's when WSN is installed on a Win2003/IIS setup. On a unix/linux installation, this can be done by using the "apache mod_rewrite URL rewriting" facility, but this involves the .htaccess file, which is not recognised in Windows2003.
Has anyone looked into this before, or is there any known way of doing it?
if there is a way to do this i have not found it.. i know the 404_sef componant to mambo uses something called active script (is that right?) to add the functionality to php but it is a pain (at least for me) to set up and there are several addon dll's for iis6 that will do this but they are all $$ and i dont think they work off .htaccess
It's entirely possible to write an IIS equivilant which would do the same things as the .htaccess file, I'm told, but since I have no access to anything IIS-related I wouldn't know how. Google brings up a few things.
On a unix/linux installation
Just as a correction, Apache runs fine on Windows too.
