It appears that folks are submitting links to me for approval, and creating new categories at the same time. This has occured twice recently.
Is this possible? The first time I thought I must have created the category and forgotten, but this time I am sure this currently empty category was created by the person attempting to submit a link in it.
I would prefer that recommendations for new categories be a seperate approval. I have had suggested categories submitted, and that process works fine.
I do not want this one step link+category process because if I am not paying close attention, I get unwanted categories.
Is there a way to prent this type of category creation?
It is impossible to create a category through the 'submit link' page. The code for creating links and categories is in different spots which cannot possibly run on the same page load. Surely then they must be suggesting a new category for your approval? I wouldn't think an unvalidated category would appear in the selector, but it's at least a possibility.
I have taken a snap shot of my catagories and saved it to compare in the future. In the meantime, I denied the submitted link and deleted the suspicious category.

When I go to Admin/Edit Categories, this sumbitted sub-category is not there. (I have not approved the link with the new sub-category yet).
When I look at my top category, the newly submitted sub-category is showing.
When I look at the submit link page I see no provision for entering a category that does not yet exist. How is this being done?

It is odd, because this category shows up here:
http://www.twowayradiodirectory.com/wsnlinks/index.php
as the sub-category "Service Providers", under the "Telecom Networks" category.
Yet, on my Admin/Edit Categories page, there is no such sub-category shown.
I have pending approval, a link submitted to this category.
Is there any log of category creations?
