I feel quite stupid, but I couldn't find anything about the tags in the manual or the forum, and I can't find a hint in the admin section (besides the switch) or in a link template. How do you add tags???
If I'm not mistaken looking at the php file and database table. It either adds meta tags to the description of the link when the page is called or it adds keywords to the link which would be probably used when you do a search.
I haven't looked at all the code to see what functions go to what but that's what I see. As it only seems to be displayed on the detailed description page.
In your usergroup permissions you can set which groups can add/delete tags. If your group has permission, the box to add tags will be on the link details page.
Tags in this sense have no relation to meta tags. It's an odd web 2.0 thing. Pre-tagging links based on meta keywords is an idea, but people tend to be rather repetitive in their meta keywords.
ah, okay, I see. So basically if members can add tags they can add it to ALL links, not just their own? And could I just move that field to the edit link page or maybe its own page?
Yes, all links. I should split it into can tag own/all permissions at some point.
that'd be a good idea, I think
Well it has to submit as a seperate form, so it wouldn't work well on the edit page.
oh, okay. maybe I should just use the details page afterall - I could transform it into a "add tags" page or I could just have that for myself only, so people won't start adding crazy things, which would make me go nuts LOL

For a traditional keywords setup you can just create the field keywords, and the "get meta" button will fetch meta keywords for that.
