I have not yet "fully incorporated the Sponsor Link features .. so maybe I am missing something on this ...
..it occurs to me that if after someone submits a link - and they have checked the "tell me about sponsorship etc" - they are directed to the sponsorship purchase page - with paypal or "payment of choice" etc
- and if the admin has it set so that the New Link - is submitted for approval prior to posting.. ( Pending Moderator - or Admin Approval)
Could it not be then that someone could end up actually purchasing a "Sponsored" listing - prior to admin approval .... and if the admin rejected the link ... then ???
then the problem becomes one of refunds - charges etc etc ... Do you see where I am going with this ??
- So I guess I am looking for - ( if infact - this is the case and I haven't missed some obvious solution to this scenario that I am outlining ..) suggested solutions from those who have implemented "sponsored listings" etc. and who may have faced this scenario ... (Though definately not meant to exclude Paul !)
Yes, you would have people paying before you approve them. I seem to recall somebody either coming up with or requesting something related to that, but I don't remember who.

Well I did find the solution:
After hours and hours and hours
(Did I mention hours ? )
of trying to make sense of the Paypal - pooly written manuals ...
I was able to finally integrate it successfully in my "developers sandbox"
- thus giving time to validate the "correctness of a transaction" prior to posting payment ...
If urgent for others to know PM me .. for details ..
but must get off the computer at the moment as they would say in Monty Python - my brain hurts
Will try to post here shortly ..

The sandbox was indeed a huge pain, I tried it once and resolved to henceforth avoid it whenever possible.
