I was just wondering if it is possible to define the searchable fields for categories as well, because I can only find them for links and comments. I'd like categories to be only searchable by name, not by description.
You can't limit categories to multiple fields, but limiting to one you can do. Take the advanced search template's category search and strip out everything but the name field, then change the condition selector into a hidden input field of the desired selection.
