So I got the script installed on my host finally, set up a few links to see how they work, and I am now ready to edit the templates to give it the look and feel of my site. I am not sure though, what to edit first! I have gone through the manual and read many threads in this forum, and I haven't found any definitive answer to some of my questions, such as:
I want to add an image to the top of the page, but so far I have not found the right template.
I want to change that really light blue color behind the links boxes, but I cannot find the right template either. I thought I would search for the color (#ECF0F3) but no tamplates contain a tag with that color #. And even though the color looks the same I have gotten different color tags (#EFF4F6, #F3F6F9) which I cannot find either.
I want to add the voting system for each link I create. Is there a tutorial or something in the manual for setting this up?
The colours and styles are all held within the default.css. Under the templates at the very top edit the stylesheet > default. But, be warned there is one hell of a lot of info in there and it will take you time to find out exactly what to change and which style affects what!
I started by playing around with the wrapper and the css at the same time, integrating them both into my already made site. Then the next template to do was the main index, then the Show Links in Category, then gradually work my way through.
The voting system is already set up in the templates, just have to make sure the switch [link ratings] is on
It's taken me a number of weeks but I'm almost there and about to launch my "beta" version on the public so they can tell me what I can improve/amend.
Hi Jill, thanks for the reply. I have been changing the color tags in the default.css file, and so far none have changed the main area. Guess I need to continue all the way through it.
Also, is there a way to submit a link, and attach a remotely hosted image to a banner image to it? I have tried in Title, URL, and Description.

Do you want a custom field, or something as part of the description? If a custom field, see custom fields in the manual and use a regular <img> tag to display the image from the url. If you want it as part of the description, make a WSN code for that (if the img code isn't there by default, which I think it is actually).
Hi Paul, I have searched the manual and articles for anything regarding custom fields, and I do not find anything that assists in creating a custom field which will accept raw html. If you know of the article, can you please point me to it?
Accepting raw html is a matter of usergroup permissions, so it's be easier to write the WSN Code in the field and select under settings->general to parse wsn codes in that field.

Look in the main template at where the colour is that you want to change and see what class it is, then do a find for that class in the css.
I'll have to leave the remote link for Paul to answer - I'm a newbie too <G>
