hi, I just followed the instructions for safely upgrading in the manual and i went to upgrade.php of the new directory , i click submit and it says i need to login first and then go back to that area. so i login using the login info from the old directory and it doesnt allow me into the admin area although it says log out on the bottom. I copied the config.php and chmodded to 666 so im not sure why i cant get to the admin panel. I also see all my caegories in the drop down but just cant get into the admin area. Any reason this could be happening?

i did that but after upgrade I still could not login. I can see my categories on the drop down but they dont work and i see the template names in the drop down too but they down change. I decided to overwrite the old wsn and now i have this problem still. I backed up my templates folder before this overwrite but not sure if this was enough to restore them.

ok, i dont know if this has anything to do with the problem but i overwrited the integration folder . There are 2 readme files in the 3.15 folder. One is html and the other a text file. One says not to overwrite integration folder the other does not say anything about that. so I first read the latter. Also, I have overwritten the templates folder with my old one but they dont work , what should they be chmodded to?

one mre thing, i received an email for the member approval of the new user i regisrtered and in the link to go approve it i see that the name of the new directory in in the link url instead of the original one. is this because i deleted the url from the config settings in the admin panel when i first started the upgrading process?
Your upgrade implies that somehow you got tables in your config.php file that aren't actually in your database. You'll have to remove the markup, switches, etc tables from your config.php and re-run the upgrade (all the tables that you get 'does not exist' responses for).

I still could not login.
Did you set a specific cookie path that's outside of where you're installing, or do you have any errors?
As for templates, you have to chmod them correctly.
