A few times a week, I started getting emails from people reporting broken links that look like this:

--
Someone has reported a problem with the game link ( {LINKURL} ). The problem is . Edit this link at www.gamelinks.com/admin/edi...ls&fieldvalue={LINKID}

This was the comment given:
--

It almost always follows an email of a valid link being reported at pretty much the same time (this last time I had a valid bad link reported email followed by 2 of these bad ones, one the same time and the next one was sent 1 minute later). What could cause these sort of emails to be sent without the LINKURL being used?

I can't reproduce it, thus I don't know what could cause it.

Maybe there's a leak one page of the site where the variables/values aren't being passed properly?

Still having this problem. Below is the email log of the one today. It doesn't do this with all the reported links... maybe 1 in 5.

Notice how each email is 3 seconds apart, as if it was in some sort of loop that didn't exit properly. It always sends 3 emails too. Also, this only recently started happening (maybe been doing it for a little over a month), so I think it might have something to do with one of the new version upgrades.

Here's some more info on this.

Notice the IPs. The first one (being the one on the bottom) was by the person reporting a bad link. Then he went and reported a comment 2 minutes later. At the same time, a blank report comment was added, with a DIFFERENT IP address. Then 2 seconds later, another blank report comment was added with that same IP. Looks as if the process is being repeated again, caused by another visitor to the site, and because that person didn't initiate this process, all the variables are empty.

I then went ahead and tried reporting a comment myself. This is what it said in my email log:

webmaster@gamelinks.com Comment Reported A visitor with the username "B.M.Jessop" has reported a problem with a comment on Runescape. See http://www.gamelinks.com/comments.php?id=157 to view the thread. Note the username it says I am: "B.M.Jessop". I'm logged in as Admin. B.M. Jessop is the name of the person who wrote the comment I reported.

Could this, the email problems, and the Apache log problem (posted in my other thread) all be related? For all these problems, WSN Links appears to be repeating things over and over again - emails sent out, processes (like the one I posted in the Apache log in the other thread), etc. So if that's true, would the more people you have visiting the site, the more chance processes would be repeated and cause problems like this?

Yea, i am getting the exactly same problem lately. I also tried testing reporting the link with different browser( means not logged in as admin ).

Sometimes i get 2 emails with the ={LINKID} from my own i.p and another from sender's i.p. raised eyebrow

is it possible that googlebot.com can trigger reporting broken links ?

Googlebot doesn't submit forms, but some spam devices would. Turn the security image on if you haven't, to stop them.
