I am not certain but it seems polls used to not show the member names of those who've voted..
How does this work as a poll accumulates many votes? .. a 'more' kind of link?
I also tried to edit a poll, changing "Make poll votes public?" (checked to unchecked) and the unchecked state does not stick. There are votes already if that makes any difference..
Directly after posting a topic-thread-message + poll there is a 'show results' when there is no votes. This goes away after a vote is made, obviously for public tally this makes sense. But I tried a test poll and made it private at creation and it more or less shows as the public except without the names of those who've voted.
Seems 'show results' is sort of obsolete as I have only seen it as mentioned above.
Finally, it seems that votes are tracked by IP? If I create a poll (non public FWIW) with one member, logout and then login with another member the option to vote is not available..
Just a follow up, I had another strange situation, perhaps related, with the message that prompted this topic.
- created a topic + message with 4 attached .jpg + poll - fiddled around with the poll some then eventually deleted the poll - images were showing GD generated thumbnails and being presumably renamed (remove extensions, allow all ext) properly -- looked good to me on the server.
However, clicking on the thumbnails or links would commence to send as a download the attached file, download.php.
I tested and did a few things - regen all, removed all messages from the forum and cleaned out the attachments directory of some orphaned files via shell access.
I tried a new message without the poll. I am not certain if the poll, poll deletion (leaving topic+message) was related or not but wanted to document this for reference, before I get wrapped up in something else and forget.
