just a quick question about membership,

is it possible to have a registration fee, for example 12$/year, in order for
someone to even get listed inside the directory,

and after he is listed, to be able to sponsor his link ex. $1/day for better
placement ?

You'd need to set $12 in the paypal button and make the deduction value for the usergroup microscopic (0.000001).
