How about making it possible to see the {LINK} variables in the pagination instead of NEXT and PREVIOUS.
I would like to use [LINKTITLE} AND {LINKDESCRIPTION} but I know others may wish to use all of the other variables including the custom ones.

If you're within the scope of a link, can't you use link template vars anywhere? Not that I see how they're useful in pagination.
Maybe you mean the pagination template which just shows how each number is linked? It wouldn't make any sense there that I can see.
