I want to move everything to a webaccessible directory except for everything that is to be shown to the public. My website will be a members only directory but working with my member manager script the admin and templates dont work when protected so I want to move them to /public_html while keeping only the index.php and files that my members will access in /public_html/membersonly

I don't understand what you're talking about. Admin and templates "don't work" in what way because of what "member manager script"?
