Just switched to gzip mode on Friday, works pretty speedy - I like it. But, I have trouble with reciprocal link validator now - when I click on the link it opens up a download dialog and tries to save 'checkone' file... I truned gzip off and recip link validator works again. Here is the original validator's link /admin/index.php?show=validation Any suggestions of fixing it? Thanks!
Just found custom condition I added that didn't appear at all with mod_gzip on. Here is the code:
<IF {SPONSORUSELINK} is yes><br><a href="link.php?action=sponsor&id={LINKID}&sp=1">Move your link to the top: sponsor this category</a><br> <IF {LINKEXPIREDAYS}>Link expires in <IF {LINKEXPIREDAYS} less than 14> <font color="#FF0000">{LINKEXPIREDAYS} days</font>. <OTHERWISE> {LINKEXPIREDAYS} days.</IF> <a href="link.php?action=sponsor&id={LINKID}&sp=101">Pay for inclusion</a><br></IF> </IF>
Any ideas what's wrong? I turned mod_gzip off for now until the problem solved. Thank you!
mod_gzip is an apache module that when turned on actually prevents the WSN gzip option from working (makes pages blank) although it also makes the WSN option redundant. My localhost install seems to have mod_gzip on, since turning on gzip in WSN kills the pages. So, I'll have to find how to turn off the apache module or find if one of my hosts doesn't have it.
