Presumably you're using HTML for the non-counting types which doesn't include the hit counting javascript call. Copy and paste from the default link bit template.

Sorry Paul, not quite understanding you here (probably a dumb blone moment again!)
Hm, forgot the javascript is autoinserted. That can't be the issue. My details page hits get counted on localhost. There are no options to exclude specific types from counting on details pages.
Tested viewing the details of a link on your site, and as you can see it went up to 6 views: www.idealchristmasgift.co.u...electronics-limited-6.html . But I'm not sure what type that is. I can't test more because it's excruciatingly painful... blue on red is just evil, especially with a large bright LCD like mine.
Just quickly been on, logged out and hit - counter incremented correct. So I guess it is when I am logged in as admin. I have it set to yes count admin hits
Paul, I am still having problems with this. My new site, http://www.freewebbargains.com is not counting the hits either. I have it so that it counts admin and linkowner

New Site.
The hits out does not seem to be working on two of the new link types - affil and product. It appears works ok on link type "article".
Here is a page with affil type links: http://www.idealchristmasgift.co.uk/christmas-shops/
Here is a page with product type links: http://www.idealchristmasgift.co.uk/christmas-gifts/
They show 5 hits as I have input that figure
In admin > links Count as link hit when: all are set to YES

In my linkbit for the affil link type I have:
<a href="{TRACKLINKURL}" {EXTERNALLINKS}>{LINKTITLE}</a>
<OTHERWISE>
<a href="{LINKDETAILSURL}">{LINKTITLE}</a></IF>
And for the links concerned have an ordinary link in the url field. But even when I click on details it doesn't record the hit.

OUCH! Here is what it looks like (and SHOULD look like <G>) with IE.
Tis a new site so hadn't tested it on all others yet - will do that NEXT!
I shall fix the css so it works on all browsers then test the hit counter again. Sorry for the pain Paul!

Still can't duplicate. Do you count when the submitter is viewing as well?
