Google has a beta sitemap program that scans your sites a bit a more frequently than just waiting for the bots to come by & crawl the sites.
Paul it's pretty hard for us to expect you to keep up with everything & put it into the software.
We've been drop dead busy but we found a PHP tool to create sitemaps in the right format for Google.

We haven't installed it yet but by using the demo it seems to work.
Paul we just installed the latest version & love the additions like the google pagerank tool.
We thought of using toplist & static html generater for the sitemaps but if the directory is large then it might not be good.
