If you set the priority value to 0 or blank for any of the options in the sitemap settings on the SEO page (except links), WSN will exclude that from the sitemap.
However, a not found error on comments is something you need to look into. What's the full URL which it says is not found, and is it indeed a 404 in your web browser? If it loads in your browser, then you've probably got Admin -> Settings -> System set to lock out robots when the server load is over a certain level.
Are you sure you're looking at the right file? The number of lines per file increased recently so there are likely to be a lot of large-numbered legacy files that aren't referenced in mapindex.xml. Only map files referenced in mapindex.xml are of any significance.
As I said above, any files you have that aren't referenced in mapindex.html are simply from a long time ago. Feel free to delete them. Don't pay attention to them, since google won't.

hi paul,
google is getting worse in indexing my submitted sitemap..
results..
Total URLs in Sitemap 207196
Indexed URLs in Sitemap 16804
It also shows warnings about comments not found so it shows 404
example.. comments.php?id=85100
i get a blank page...
how can i exclude the comments pages and voting from the sitemap?
i do need to optimize this as 16804 of 207196 is realy bad..

0 or blank as stated above. It works fine, as evidenced by the lack of vote/email/tag urls at http://www.webmastersite.net/public_html/links/map.xml.
