Has anyone been able to open template (tpl) files in a full screen and full featured editor like DreamWeaver?

I would like to see the page as it's being modified. Can these files be changed to htm (html) extensions during editing, then changed back afterward?

Thank you.

Erm, what exactly is the difficulty? Any full featured editor must surely have an 'open' option on the file menu which allows opening files.

I think I figured it out. Edit the code in any text editor, then save, upload, and refresh the actual site page in a separate browser window. Is that it?

DW and Homesite let you see code errors (and matching code) with .htm(l) files though - thought this could be duplicated with .tpl files somehow too. Would make mods much easier. Does anyone use DW with tpl files? Are any of the program's features enabled with this? How?

I've never used dreamweaver, but you can always rename the files as long as you don't forget to name them back before uploading.
