At showlinks.tpl I have deleted the one table for each link type and placed all the link types inside the same table (this in order to present columns with category variables for each link).
I need to present one link per row, so at Settings->General I have: Number of columns per row-> Links: 1
This works fine for all sponsored types as a <tr> is inserted before <!-- BEGIN SPONSOR LINKS -->
The difficulty is that at the first Regular type link the <tr> is not inserted so the row format is lost.

If you don't want rows automatically inserted, select 0 columns per row.
