Tested and confirmed that it's working exactly as I would expect it to. {CATCHECKED[testcheckbox <,> op2]} is empty when op2 isn't checked, and contains 'checked' when it is checked. Tested single option checkboxes as well, {CATCHECKED[onecheck]} is also perfect.

Paul,
I use this variable to select If I want to present special category variables or not on each category.
It´s not working. When editing a Category the variable always persent checked and after editing the category unchecked it´s presented checked again.

Just tested at my localPC on ver 5.0.26 using xampp :
a) The following works fine:
-> Creating a new category field: multi_options Type: Check boxes ->
multiple checkbox options: option1, option2
b) Now with the following you can not uncheck after you have checked for the first time :
-> Creating a new category field: single_option Type: Check boxes ->
multiple checkbox options: -- empty for no multiple options --
