What's the best way to restrict adult sites to their own categories? If you don't want the adult categories to display, or adult links to show in search or main public directory. Can you have a seperate page for visitors/members to agree to and then go to a seperate area? How could that be set-up?

Thanks,

You could edit the category to change the usergroup permissions for it to deny guest viewing.

Hi

I think you are probably looking in the wrong place. To have permissions for a specific category to be different (ie hidden from guests whilst other categories (and default is) can be seen) you edit the category - you do not need to go to the admin panel to do this. When you log in you will see an Edit button next to each category - click this and scroll down to the bottom to see permissions. Guest is #1 so for those categories you wish hidden from guests edit them edit Usergroup ID#1 Can view category? to no

However, if you have more categories that are hidden to guests than are viewable I would do it the other way round, have the default as no (hidden) and change the categories that can be viewed by guests to yes (viewable)

If you want ALL your categories to be hidden from Guests go to the Admin panel and Manage Usergroups, select Guest and change the can view category to no, having member as yes

My templates are also highly customised and there is no way I would be able to redo them if that were necessary, but it's not. I upgrade with no problem. Generally you upload all files in the upgrade except your templates and integration dir. To see if anything has changed in the templates I look at the date modified, if it has been updated I compare the template to see what has changed. I think there is a link in the readme.htm with the upgrade that goes to a program that will do this for you.

I think it is vital to upgrade as a lot of bugs have been fixed
