Hi Paul

I'm logged in as administrator but when I edit a link it requires validating. It didn't on previous versions and I can't find anything in the admin area.

TIA
Jill

Uncheck Admin -> Members -> Manage Usergroups -> Administrators -> needs validation of edits.

That was the first thing I looked at - it was unchecked

[edit] It's demanding validation for submitting links too. All boxes for requiring validation are unchecked within the Administrator Manage Member area

My only other idea is it could be a category-specific permission, check the category usergroup permissions. Otherwise, tested and I'm not seeing any problems of this sort in 6.1.6, so http://www.wsnlinks.com/inspection.html

OK, I have found the problem - on one of my upgrades (not sure which one) ALL category specific permissions were changed to Yes AARRGGGHHH This is for 250 categories and 4 membership groups!!! It will take me a month of sundays to manually change all these to default, and I just don't have that time or energy.

Is there a way that I can quickly change ALL categories to default permissions?

TIA
Jill

You can remove all custom category permissions with an UPDATE {PREFIX}categories SET permissions=''; query at Admin -> Misc -> Advanced.
