I have noticed two issues when regenerating categories since the last few upgrades:
Moderators - Should subcategories inherit moderators from their parents?
I had it set to yes as it has been for years. I had myself set as moderator in a top-level category and upon regeneration it overwrote all moderators in the sub-categories and replaced them with me thereby removing all of the category / sub-category moderators. Before the last few upgrades, I was able to regenerate without it replacing the moderators to the top-level moderator.
Updates - Number of days to mark articles and categories as updated:
I have this set to 21. Upon category regeneration it removes the updated marker from the categories regardless of when the category was updated. It does still show the articles as new and as it takes just over 24 hours to regenerate articles I have not tested it to see if the new marker stays. |
