Removing all references to reciprocals

Title Removing all references to reciprocals
Message Text How would I go about removing all references to reciprocal links in the templates? I want to use different link types but not reciprocals. I have tried simply renaming the link type to something else, but I come up with an error when browsing the categories.... Thanks
