setup some new categories and chose these new link types as the category type (not regular).
Erm, obviously you can't choose a link type as a category type, because it's a link type, not a category type.
I don't see the point in link types if every link in the category is the same type, either... why not just use a custom category template and have more control?
I would like to filter the categories that are binded to the new link types so the associated submission forms only show those cats.
You'd just need to switch off the category selector on your link page and have it only submit to the current category.
