Spider friendly URLS |
Message Text |
My old host used to support Mod Re-write. Now that Ive moved my site over to a new host I was totally unaware they did not support Mod Re-write. Now all my efforts of having my site listed all over the search engines has gone to the toilet.I used to be able to do a search for Jeep websites and I was listed as number 2 just under Jeep.com. Now with my move I have no idea where I am and Im getting less and less seen. Is it just a move thing or is my non Mod-Rewrite status killing me?
Since the search engines listed all my sites as domainname/link/1234 now of course its the long un Mod Re-write version and so now the search engines are purging themselves every every link I have in my site because they are all turning up as 404. I suspected it simply because well thats the way it goes.
Without using the Mod Re-Write urls for my categories does the search engines consider them search spider friendly? With the Mod Re-write URLs I could check my logs and see tons of activity from the search engine spiders and now it almost appears to be dead.
AM I worried about nothing or should I be worried? |
