Hi Paul:
I've been working hard on optimising and modifying my purchased WSN Guest, and I've got the following completions as well as questions:

COMPLETIONS:

. Unicode version - available for multi-languages without font eneoding conflicts with scripts.
. Email notification modification due to the possible
unicode encoding's incompatibility with some browsers. ==> Notification email is sent as HTML format encoded in unicode utf-8, which is working well with yahoo.com, yahoo.com.tw, operamail.com ... webmails and the smtp TheBat! (Outlook is believed to be performing well too,) The minor defect is that in Hotmail you need to adjust your browser manually.
. Avatars now have their img's "alt" added, so when a user move mouse on the avatar, the meaning/name of the avatar can be shown, which helps the users in picking proper avatars! By the same token, avatars can be added up to as many as you want by default without needing to go to admin panel!
. A notice can be added up to let users know what's new in site!
. A counter can be added! Trackers/stats can be added too.
. Using only one header (with banner images on it) for both guest section and admin section despite of the fact that admin and users have got different folders! => use [IFADMIN../]
. [ View member list ] hyperlink will only show up for logged in members; and , members can see anything about other members except the email addresses, which prevents ill-minded spammers' penetration for gaining email addresses! ... etc.
With the above listed modifications completed by myself, I believe the WSN is really safe and powerful and can be multi-functional. It can be used as a guestbook, or a tiny discussion board, or extended as an online survey/questionaire (if you add up the fields properly in the signbook section). I hope Paul can work on some skins or themes for the WSN Guest and do some promotion to boost the sales of the nice product, WSN Guest!

Questions:

. When HTML mode is activated, it'll be better to add up some HTML filters, such as filtering [iframe] or [javascript] tags.... etc, which might be abused by some bad guys! - I hope the WSN Guest can add up the filters when the HTML mode is on. Or, an option that only webmasters are given the privilege to use HTML can be an alternative too.
. How to insert 2nd language pack? I only use the English (although it's been converted to UNICODE + Mandarin + English) in my WSN Guest. And when I select deutsch, it then turns out to see many variable names in my guest.
. How to call the user data (username and email) in the stored cookie, which is already mentioned in other threads here! Please could Paul kindly help me work it out!
. I've posted some questions at other threads in this forum here, I hope those questions can be solved properly. too.
