Upgrade Problem

Description displaying blank pages
Message Text I attempted to upgrade to version 4.1.59 from 4.0.24 I followed the instructions in the readme file. I had the ftp info entered. I manually uploaded the files and when I try to run upgrade.php I just get a blank white page. I am not able to login as admin, I get a blank white page displayed. What have I done?
