I'm not able to reproduce your problem. With URL rewriting off, it goes to the destination. With URL rewriting on, it goes to an error page unless the frameset switch is also on (fixed that).
There must be some combination of switches and settings or maybe template content you have that results in a different behavior, but I can't guess it. Tried the indirect links switch but that didn't affect it.

Especially useful if you are running affiliate programs. Some Affiliate program URLs are long and ugly.

So when I check this the link seems to redirect to the details page rather than to the site itself.
