I felt sure that a some previous time when submitting to a category a drop down list of sub categories appeared - it doesn't now.
If you navigate to the sub category and then submit there is a dropdown of sub cats.
It came to light when I tried to move a link from its category to a sub cat - no dropdown of subs.
Then I tried submitting from frontend just the same. I feel it ought to be there but don't know at which update it disappeared. Or was I imagining it!

I found another site which allowed submitting listings and that was the same - but of course I don't know which version that uses.

I see you're using the level-based category selector. Tested on my own 6.1.6 copy and the subcategories showed up when I clicked their parents, so I'll check it out on your site shortly, assuming the FTP info is unchanged.

Checked and actually the subcats are displaying as expected on your site. Most of your categories don't have subs, when when I select 'Potters' from the list at www.ukpotters.com/links/sug...suggest.php?action=addlink it brings up all the subdirectories of Potters, as it should. Submitting through www.ukpotters.com/links/sug...hp?action=addlink&catid=41 also looks fine. Maybe I misunderstand what you're saying. Maybe you mean that at www.ukpotters.com/links/sug...hp?action=addlink&catid=35 the subcategory isn't shown until you click to re-select Kiln Furnature? That's the intended behavior though, doesn't seem like it should move down a level until the user clearly indicates the desire.

My fault - I'm obviously getting to old for this!
I do see how I got confused though, then having got the wrong idea fixed in my mind just managed to reinforce it.( I was trying to move a link (as admin) from the cat it was in to a subcat of that category - so the category was already highlighted with no list of subcats. I didn't click on the cat as it seemed to be already selected. I then managed to convince myself that it was failing in other places.)

Thanks for the response and I can now see that it is working as I thought it should.
