I don't know why this is starting all of a sudden however the links to images in the fckattachments folder are not working correctly.

I did not make any changes whatsoever so there is nothing that I can think of that would have caused this.

Steps:
Add an article
Click in wysiwyg to add an image
Go through the image folder to retrieve the image
Image is placed into the wysiwyg text box
Submit article
View page and image does not appear
Check source code and image link is there, however there is now a space in the image link, which explains why it does not appear in the final article. See below - there should not be a space in Harriett:
img src="/fckattachments/image/blue_river_cemetery/Conrad_H ar riett_Mary.jpg"
I have tried to edit the picture and reinsert it and it will again contain a broken link and the extra space may or may not be in the same location in the link.

Images were being added in this category:

Oddly this just started this morning. Articles I placed over the past few days were properly showing the images and when I started up again this morning it wasn't working. Actually, sometimes it would work, other times not. It seems to be very strange and I have no idea how it could be happening. This is also happening to other articles I placed over the weekend, however it is sporadic sometime it will appear, other times not, so there seems to be no rhyme or reason for it.

Ideas? Help? I still have over 50 articles with images to get on the site and then she is sending me a few hundred more.

I could put them in the attachments box, however since these are tombstone photos many of them apply to two or more individuals (articles) and I was hoping to save server space by linking to them in the fckeditor.

Looks like a wordwrap issue. It's not supposed to wrap inside html tags but is apparently doing so anyway.

I can't get fckeditor's image upload working at all to test, though. I have an /fckattachments/ directory, but when I click "send to server" on the upload tab it doesn't appear to do anything, and when I click OK it asks for a URL. Maybe it requires the file manager bit which I don't include...

Added the filemanager directory. It then gives a message about being disabled. Editing fckeditor/filemanager/php/config.php, the line for turning it on warns that authentication is needed. Until I figure out what it means. turning it on doesn't seem wise.

This gets more complicated the more I look into it, so it doesn't look like fckeditor images can be supported until 5.1. Since you magically somehow have it almost-working, though, you can try setting your wordwrap number of characters to something large (say 100 or 200) at Admin -> Settings -> General.

I think I mistunderstood your post because you didn't use the [code] tag and thus the way it renders wouldn't necessarily be the way you typed it. I gather now that the wordwrapping is on the forum, not in what you're actually seeing it.

I have been using attachments through the fckeditor for I don't know how long. The config files you mention do need to be adjusted manually to allow for the uploads, it appears to be a security measure in the fckeditor and I never gave it any thought, just made the necessary changes in the editors config file. I just don't understand why it worked all this time and then all of a sudden, with no changes to templates, upgrades, server, etc., that it is now causing problems.

Now that I have had time to think about it, you may be on the right track with a wordwrap issue of some sort or possibly a similar type of problem. I have had similar problems in the past, just not with the images, but with actual text. While viewing an article it will have a space in the middle of a word that wasn't there before. I have noticed this on rare occasions in the past, this is just the first time it interfered with an image link. I also tried to place the image link in through the plain text editor and it broke also, yet in a different place.

I have no explanation for it, nor can I think of any reason it would start happening. I just know that all of the images I placed in the few days prior worked fine and then all of a sudden they were breaking.

I now believe you were correct on the wordwrap. I changed the setting from 60 to 500 characters and it works now! I will have to manually edit the ones it affected which is fine since I stopped working on it until I could figure out what was going wrong. I counted back the characters in the one I fixed and the space did occur at 60, and since I was going in to edit it I was moving the code such as paragraph tags which explains why the extra space was not appearing in the same spot each time. The only oddity is why it just started happening as I don't believe I ever touched that setting in the past and just last month I placed over 500 photos on the site using the exact same procedure and they all worked fine.

Whew, I love it when it is something that is that simple. Thank you!!
