I've looked through everywhere that makes sense in the admin, and I've run "Regenerate" on everything, but this problem persists. I'm assuming at this point that I've missed a configuration option somewhere.
The number of links in a category is only showing the total for that category - it's not including the subcategory totals. So if I have a hypothetical category "Software" with three links, and two subcategories "C++" and "PHP" with five links in each, I would expect that the total showing next to "Software" on the main page would be 13, but it's only showing 3.
Edit to add: I haven't done anything since I migrated to wsn from adp. There's a steep learning curve with wsn and I want to figure it out better and customize the look a bit before I start messing with anything other than just adding links.
How did you perform the migration -- did you have some method to import the links?
There are no configuration options which can make it count like that.
Regenerate categories again. Are you seeing any error messages when you do so?
If there are no errors on regenerating categories and the counts are still wrong, the only way I can tell what's going on is if you give me FTP access to the website.
I just regenerated the categories (only) and that seems to have worked. I'm a little confused, though, since I'd already done that once, as well as regenerating "everything", too.
For the import, I wrote a script that pulled the existing data from the adp database and generated an xml file for importing into wsn. I did that after manually creating the category structure. Of course, I discovered that you have a category import feature immediately after finishing creating all those categories...
Thanks again.

Am I just missing something?

If you can give me an example URL I might see the reason. Without that there's not much to go on.
Did you recently do something before this started? Say, moving one of those subcategories, or aliasing them to secondary cateogires?

Hi Paul,
The site is http://www.astronomicals.com/ - check any of the top categories, e.g. Astrophotography.
