It passes those variables along the destination so people can have the redirect go there. Redirects can be handled in other ways though so I'll change it.
Doesn't work for me - I try to explain: I have a custom-edit-template called "uploadphotos" - there I use the form-tag with the following hidden inputs.

Should this solution be available for edit.php too? I tried, but it doesn't work. I use different edit-templates.

Sorry, I didn't get your answer. Does it mean I should already be able to use it, or will you change it so that I'll be able to use it in the future?

Should be right, isn't it? However it loads the standard edit-template and not the custom edit-template when I submit.

Confirmed it doesn't work currently and made it work for next beta.
In order to prevent this breaking other stuff, the option of custom redirect pages will have to be removed.
