How many subcategories do you have? If it's more than about 500, there are too many options to list in a selector. In 4.1 the only option is to switch off the selector in the switches, in 4.2 there's an alternative level-based selector.
You can either wait for the next release or type <input type="text" name="catid"> at that spot in the 'add new' template: Admin -> Templates -> Manage Templates -> Admin Templates -> 'Add New'

Hi,
In admin side
When adding new category,
In subcategory field it is not displaying all categories.
But it displays in homepage http://www.finewineandflowers.com
For example wine directory and subcategories are not displaying under subcategory field in admin.

In my site subcategories are morethan 500.
Same problem when adding links in admin side.

Admin -> Settings -> Swictches -> uncheck the box for "Category selector for 'Suggest' pages*"
