Hi,

I am seeing Links [#], where # is the number of links twice in top left corner on certain pages of my site www.hostectory.com

Example pages: www.hostectory.com/suggest....php?action=addlink&catid=2

How can I overcome this problem? Not sure what I did, but i am getting that on some pages.

Thanks for any help.

Cheers

Can you post a screenshot? I'm not seeing anything unusual at your link: http://www.webmastersite.net/screenshots/31601.jpg

Looks like this is happening when the user is logged in.. i mean a registered user when navigating to certain pages.

One of the change i made was, i moved some links visible when user is logge din only to any guest user also cal access those links.

Another example of the calender page...

You have a cookie problem making it impossible to login. Edit: I see how you have to add the www. subdomain to login. Try a cookie domain of .hostectory.com.

Somewhere in one of your templates, or maybe a tweaks file or something else you added, you generate "links [something] <br>links [something] <br>" -- so search for that. I'd say the invalid XHTML should make it easy to find if you didn't have 366 HTML errors.

Paul,

By cookie issue you mean the value in Settings >> System Config >> Cookie Details >. Domain field ??

This Domain field is currently blank.
Should i put a value of '.hostectory.com' without the single quotes in that field to fix the login cookie problem??

Thanks much

Thanks Paul.

I have now set the cookie domain value as '.hostectory.com'

Regarding the actual issue in this thread, i checked all the templates and I dont find any links{something}. Would you like to login and check and see if you could isolate the issue?

Thanks

I can do it as site inspection under the usual terms: scripts.webmastersite.net/w...dex.php?section=inspection

Paul...

This Links [number] is appearing only on reviews pages, post reply pages and user panel options pages.

Also, this appears only when the user is logged in and navigates to those above mentioned pages.

Any idea of why this could be happening?

Thanks for any help.

Is this happening because of this variable {CATNUMLINKS}??

Okay... I just tried adding another link to a different directory and now the it shows the value for {TOTALLINKS}

Where could this come from??

Thanks

Paul...

I identified the source of this problem, but not sure why it should happen and how can I fix it... I need your help here.

It was the wrapper.tpl which was causing this issue.

I had moved this piece of code...

	<IF {SWITCH_SEARCHINCAT}>
<div align="left">
<form action="search.php?filled=1&condition={DEFAULTSEARCHTYPE}" method="post"><input type="hidden" name="whichtype" value="links" />
Search for <input type="text" name="search" size="{STANDARDSIZE}" />
in <select name="incat"><option value="">All Categories</option>{CATOPTIONS}</select>
<input type="submit" value="Search" class="button" /></form></div>
</IF>

from displaylinks.tpl to wrapper.tpl and placed in the footer of wrapper.tpl

BUT why should this move cause such a problem? How can I overcome the issue?

Thanks
