after upgrading from an old version to 4.1.24 all my cats go to one category. i regenerated the cats. all the other rewritten links work, except for the cats confused

What rewriting format are you using for categories at Admin -> Settings -> SEO?

That's never going to show anything but the page number. The default is {CATREWRITEPATH}/{PAGE}.html
