I have had an Idea to create a page with content generated by a toplist, but the thing is, the toplist will be of ALL of the categories in the directory, and I need them to display like a category structure.
Toplevel category -- Sub category -- Sub category --- Sub Sub --- Sub Sub -- Sub category -- Sub category --- Sub Sub
Etc...
I need it to look like a map of my category structure.
The reason I want to do this is that I do not like the category selector drop down box when someone submits a link. It's ok for a small amount of categories, but with hundreds or thousands of categories its just not practical.
My new toplist page will link to the submit link page for each category, allowing link submitters to look at the category structure and decide where to submit, before actually getting to the submit form.
My ultimate solution would be to have such a page, but instead of having links to the submit page for each category, it would have a check box for each category, and submitters would be able to select up to five categories, submit the form, and then get directed to the normal submit form and get submitted to all five categories. But I dont think thats possible. Correct me if I'm wrong. I would be willing to pay for such a mod.
I am just really looking for a much better way for link submitters to select categories because most seem to not bother looking at the drop down box thoroughly, and submit to categories that are nothing to do with them.
Thanks, mind you it loads far too slow, I'm about a day away from uploading the new design, and that really is good, well I think so.
Anyway, I have tried various toplist setting and I have had the categories in just about every order apart from the order I need. I'm sure there is an answer, but as yet I cant find it.

Hi
I actually use a toplist to produce a menu in a left column. Just generate a toplist for categories.
I only want the top level to show, not sub-cats, so I have:
If you want ALL the cats to show you will not have the parent='0'.
If you want a dash before the sub-cats, have your display as:
