Ok this got me realy pissed.
spending a lot of time putting links in,beeing very carefull of what im doing..
but still..

i created a main category that now holds 10 sub categories.
but..that shows 1 sub double... !

this happend when i created a sub and forgot to set it under the main category,so it was created as a main cat to..
so i moved it under the main and that was that..
however,it still shows the duplicate like ...video , video
they have catid=9 and catid=10
I see both of them but where ever i look it only shows once if i go to category edit.
I run all the regeneration stuff.

how is that possible?

And whats even worse...
It even doesnt show the links added INSIDE that category !
But i know its there !

How do i fix this ?

When moving categories to a new parent category you may need to regenerate categories to update the subcategories list. Admin Panel -> Maintenance -> Regenerate Counters, click either regenerate all or regenerate categories and let it run.

I run all the regeneration stuff.

Well then, what are you actually seeing? What does "shows 1 sub double... !" mean exactly? Do you have an example URL, or at the very least a screenshot?

It even doesnt show the links added INSIDE that category !

Sounds odd, I'll need a URL or at least debug info.

sorry paul...
will keep in mind next time to show some proof..

i suggest you do some testing with switching sub-cats..
i had to delete a sub that didnt showed anywhere with an option to delete it...
weird huh...

so i had to delete the sub directory from which it created the duplicate..
after that it was fixed....

Well I'm trying this:
1) Edited a top level category, moved it beneath another top level category. Note both of them have subcategories and some links.
2) Regenerated all.

Everything looks perfect. The newly-moved category shows up in the subcategories list on the front page. Clicking through both categories there's nothing unusual about them.
