Thought I would try out the google sitemap. Autogenerated and checked it out only to find the following at the bottom of the page:

The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

You have "dent:-2em">" in your file?

I can't find a problem in my sitemaps, I'd probably have to see your whole file to get an idea.

Attached is the file.

Paul I am still having probs accessing your site. Sometimes I can but then click on the post or to reply and it takes so long I get time-out. I have also tried accessing it with Firefox when it just says timed out. I have cleared my computer of cache, uninstalled programs, reinstalled browsers, and spent ages trying to find the problem. It is ONLY your site and only the forums and manual that I have probs with. Driving me absolutely nuts!

To reply to this I had to download file onto my computer, then transfer to laptop. At this rate I shall be bald with pulling my hair out !

I have also noticed since upgrading that accessing http://www.thedogscene.co.uk is a lot slower. Whereas it used to load in less than 4 secs it is now taking 6.91 and sometimes 9

Opera shows more clearly what the error is: http://www.webmastersite.net/screenshots/6573.jpg ... that URL should have & instead of &, but I don't see how you can possibly get the & since the category url function only uses &. Tested a site that doesn't use rewriting and it still generates the sitemap for me without errors. The odder thing actually is that seem to be using rewriting yet you have this one category that doesn't use it. What's unique about this category #93?

If you have the spider load restriction on there's a related bug that makes pages take longer. If load remains high try 4.0.20's cache system.

I don't see anything different about that category.

The spider data is still at the default, I have not altered anything concerning spiders.

Having to do this on laptop. I am now bald and going to start pulling the hair out of my dogs <G>

Yes, that is what is so stupid. Both laptop and my computer are wireless. Hubby's computer is in next room with router. As yet I haven't had a prob accessing with either of those!

I am now on my computer and able to access and am using Firefox. However, after I have submitted this post I MAY not be able to! Yesterday I was able to go to several pages before getting timed-out. The ol' proverbial needle in the haystack, of which are so damn maddening. I suppose the next step would be reformatting my computer, but I don't have the time at the moment - takes a full and long day to get all the progs back on and running.

[edit] ok - went to members area to download new version. Logged in but all it did was take me back to log-in - no warning messages that id/password were incorrect. Double checked they were but still wouldn't allow me past log in page. So logged in with ie and it allowed me to! Luckily I was able to download before I was once again unable to access (am back to laptop to add this!)disapproval

You can test with a LiveCD... since it's wireless, freespire would be the best bet to automatically work (others might not have needed proprietary drivers). If it works when you boot from the CD then you'll know you have a software problem. If it doesn't, the problem could be with the router somehow.

Since you're on windows you may have antivirus or antispyware programs you could try disabling.
