Upon submitting links or creating new categories, ability to specify the tags relevant to their link submissions and then a tag cloud option customisable by admin in admin section and that can be placed on any page of the site.
I'm not sure about the actual tags, since you can use multiple categories to associate your links with, but I was interesting in the cloud view like our friend mrowton does at his http://www.paperdir.com/ on the right hand side.
Looks like paperdir is also using wsnlinks, if i am right.
However the cloud i was referring to was similar to that, but the tags that go into that could MUST be user generated and not the admin generated ones, though the user generated ones can be moderated and considered for inclusion into the cloud [just like how swicki does]
User involvement can lead to great benefits, so why not let the user generate those tags either while submitting a listing or as a end user performing a search using a keyword or a phrase.
On the paperdir, it looks like they are not user generated but just the category and/or subcategory names, if i checked it correctly.
excuse my english, but I will do a suggestion for wsnlinks.
Tagging is a great feature in web20. The users can add keywords for the images this keywords will be used as link like http://flickr.com/photos/tags/ it does.
Also this keyword should have static urls and should list a kombination of searchresults static. (I guess caching is needed for high traffic sites)
Maybe somebody can go to http://flickr.com/photos/tags/ analyse and can explain the function in better englich than me (i am german). <-Thanks a lot
I am a SEO and know how powerful this feature is in boosting traffic over search engines in google. I love wsnlinks and this feature will lift wsnlinks one leve higher than any other directoy sript on the market.
Please post arguments to show that this feature is useful for you. Thank you.
