Hi I am just learning how all this works, but I just can't seem to figure out why my early thumbnails works and my later ones don't, it make the site look a bit silly. Any ideas? I have read through everyone elses queries about thumbnails and they don't seem to be relevant.
If the file path to your attachments directory (admin->settings->system) wrong? Is the directory chmoded to 777? Do you have the attachments tree on or off, and if you changed that did you regenerate after?
The file path seems ok, the directory is chmoded to 777. I changed the attachment treew to on, but I don't know how or where to regenerate and I now have no thumbnails or images on the site. oops! I tried to regenerate under maintenance regenerate counters, but I didn't want to upset the whole site. Am i making more of a mess?

When you turn the tree on, you must use regenerate counters. Regenerate all.
I didn't want to upset the whole site.
Turning the tree on necessarily involves telling the script to reorganize where every image is -- that's what you're asking for.
