Hello All :

Have searched but didn't find anything relevant -

was noticing that I was not getting the validation required notice (from the submission of new links) that I expected on the main admin Control Panel ( I have it this way configured) - went digging and found that "they" were waiting in the Moderator Control Panel area ..

All submissions of links from members or higher - went through the "normal way"

but if it was from a guest - it went to the moderator's area ?

Any suggestions ?

-------
Also when a Moderator signs in ..it does not appear to give access to the Moderator's Control Panel - that option is only appearing for the Admin ...

Thanks in advance ..

What do you mean by "notice"? You mean when you clicked 'validate items' everything was there, but it didn't say 'x pending' on the front page? But you mention the mod cp and I don't see how that would have any relation.

Hello Paul: Hope this makes it clearer ..

Action: If a "Guest" submits a new link
Result: It only shows up in the Moderator Control Panel [When signed in as the Administrator] that there is a new link pending - and it can only be validated there. [I swear in earlier versions this was done in the Admin Control Panel area.

[So all the "submit new links" end up here - and I could easily step "on the toes" of a moderator - as even their Moderated Category Submit new links are there also. [I also would not know which ones are awaiting validation by the moderators - and which ones were from guests to un-moderated categories]

Here's why I am confused...

Action: Unless it is a "Member" that submits a new link
Result: If a Member submits a new link - then it shows up waiting for validation in both the Admin Control Panel - AND the the Moderator Control Panel. [When Signed in as the Administrator]

Thanks again

DR

PS - please disregard the "seems to be missing part" - that part was because I had not yet assigned a moderator to a specific area- so the Moderator Control Panel was not showing up when the Moderator would sign in.

Still can't figure out what you mean. Here's what I see in the admin panel after submitting a link as a guest. You need to give me a procedure of what to do, exactly, to reproduce... what you've said so far makes me think you're saying to just submit as guest and look in the admin panel, which obviously isn't it.

Hello Paul: Thanks for not giving up !

In Administrator Control Panel > Manage Usergroups > Guest

I have [Require validation of: Links ] Enabled

So when a "Guest" submits/suggests a link - [to an unmoderated/or moderated Category]

I don't get the same validation screenshot that you do -it never shows up in the Admin Control Panel for Validation - the suggested link validation only shows up in the Moderator Control Panel.

This only happens when a "guest" does a submission. When a member does a submission - then I get the validation etc. in the admin panel.

I did an install of WSN Links - without any changes on my behalf to be sure (?) it wasn't something that I have configured. - unless I am missing something ...

It doesn't make any distinction there between guest and member, and the modcp uses the same query as the admincp, so I don't see how that's possible. Doesn't seem like something that could relate to php/mysql version either. Can anyone else duplicate it?

I tested with fresh install - and voila everything worked just fine .. so obviously - I did "something" myself shocked

to cause this action - now to find out what it was ....

Thanks for your responses.
