I know that there is the "Edit Categories" option in the admin section, but that always times out, no matter what I do (i.e. changing levels, turning off category selector, etc.). I guess I just have too many categories in my directories
I was wondering if it was possible to include the in the little "Bulk edit links" drop down in the displaylinks template? that would be so convenient.
Or alternatively, maybe it's possible to split the "edit categories" page like it's done on other pages, and show only 25 categories at a time? That should prevent the time out, I guess...
The problem is that it works based on the sitemap data. That's the only way to get depth. Perhaps it could list all the top level categories, and then have buttons to expand the next level.
so it is not possible to create the same "bulk edit categories" format as we have it now for links? At least we could then edit all subcategories of one parent category at once.

I'm also having issues editing categories....I'm getting time out errors all over the place and have no idea how to manage what I have already.
I'd love to see a modification that would allow us edit categories in batches to lessen the server load.

It could be done without structure, sure, but I'll also get complaints about that. I'll think about it.

You can edit categories the normal way instead of in bulk.
I've already fixed Jenny's issue in 4.0 alpha, I should probably backport it to 3.3.
