Can you set a max on the Expiry Date? We want all links to expire after 180 days. How could I go about doing this? Sorry if this is an easy thing...I am still a novice with php and database stuff.

How about using a hidden value in the suggest link form where you set the date to 180 days?
Something like:

<input type="hidden" name="expire" value="180">

and don't forget to remove the actual form field
