a) At the moment we have {MYTYPETOTAL} that counts the total links of MYTYPE that are present on a specific category and does not counts the links of the same type present at the subcategories. We also have the {TOTALMYTYPELINKS} variable that counts the total links of MYTYPE available, but at the entire site.
I suggest to include a {MYTYPETOTALSUBS} variable that counts the total links of each type considering also same type of links present at the corresponding subcategories.
It's not practical. It'd be a huge recursive query that could only execute on regeneration, and there are more than enough things that people think are broken because they require regeneration already.
