I think I understand the multilingual part of the script which is a must for my project. Nevertheless I'm missing the option to set category names and descriptions in each used language. How is it possible that if a visitor sets the language to english, the categories will be displayed in english and if a visitor sets the language to german, the categories will be displayed in german?

You can use custom fields. There's a brief explanation/example now (written yesterday) at http://scripts.webmastersite.net/wsnlinks/manual.pdf in the "Multilingual Matters" section.
