Sounds like cookies.. This happens like clockwork after a new install and any of the cookie details are changed on the first run of the admin control panel.
First make sure you have cookies enabled in your browser for your site, which you probably do. Not quote sure if that initial post install use of the admin CP cares..
Anyhow, open the options/settings or whatever for your browser and find cookie management/view -- a list of all the cookies on your system with the ability to delete them.
Find your site cookies in there by domain or IP, depending on how you access your site.
Once you've found them delete them. Or if you want delete all cookies. Most browsers have a way to quickly delete all the stored cookies, which might be easier for you.

I cannot log into the admin panel after logging out, what do I need to do to fix this?
I am a rookie so please explain it as easy as possible.

I found the problem.
I was fiddling with the settings and I switched it to log in with email address instead of usernames....lol
