I understand that we are downloading the attached image not using any template to present it, just as the browser shows it. I understand we do not have a download.tpl template.
I suggest to include a download.tpl template in order to have the hability to desing a layout for the image(s) to be presented.

It would make more sense to me to simply link to a custom template that contains the download in it shown the way you want.
Most downloads (non-images) aren't even shown in the browser, they're sent as attachments.
