Tried to use the global variable {CURRENTURL} in templates/multilingual/viewcomments.tpl and it appears not to work. Same for templates/multilingual/noaccess.tpl (and maybe more?). The global variable {TID} does work however and contains the mentioned templates.

Actually I was using the global variable in {LANG_COMMENTS_CANTPOST} and {LANG_NOACCESS} that in their turn were used in the actual templates. Putting the {CURRENTURL} directly in the template file worked for me. Still odd that it worked for {TID}.

So far as I know variables do not as a general case work in language items, though they sometimes do where applicable.
