I've always used my comments page as the details page.

I really like the "use link name in details URL" mod rewrite feature.

Is there anyway that I could "use link name in comments template URL" instead?

I tried randomly changing things I don't know about in .htaccess with the expected results.

Use {LINKTHREADURL}

Admin CP html is
<br>Use thread names in URL: <select name="rewritethreadnames">{REWRITETHREADNAMESYESNO}</select>
<br>Format for thread name rewriting: <input type="text" name="rewritelinkname" size="15" value="{REWRITELINKNAME}"> *

in WSN Forum, not sure if that's the same as Links.

Hi,

I am not very clear about what you try to say here. Instead i installed the latest version and tried out the detail rewrite feature. Although it shows on the category page that

http://www.mysite.com/links/test-1-url-1.html

but instead when i clicked on that link, it directs to http://www.mysite.com/commentss.php?id=1 ( i added the s for comments )

which is the same as the comment link. Well, i turned the "Combine detail and comments pages" ON.

So, why is details pages redirecting to comments pages? Can i have details pages with the keyword urls? I am worry about spiders spidering two versions of the site.

I was replying to a post that was then deleted by the author:

As for your issue, it's because you're using a version prior to that fix on the subject in the bug reports forum.

That was my thread. I didn't realise you replied before I deleted it, sorry about the confusion (is it east to undelete it?).

At any rate, I'm still interested in doing this with WSNLinks, but I don't quite follow your answer.

linkthreadurl seems to point to the details page, not the comments page.

The below section is in my WSNLinks admin panel, it appears the same as what you quoted except it is labeled details instead of threads.

Use link names in link details URL:
<select name="rewritethreadnames">{REWRITETHREADNAMESYESNO}</select>
<br>Format for link details rewriting: <input type="text" name="rewritelinkname" size="15" value="{REWRITELINKNAME}"> *

Can you clarify what I need to do?

(if it were only possible to put comments on the details page...)

Yes, i am using 3.15 nd also using comments as details pages. But i test-drive the latest version because of the detail page url rewrite. So how do i implement this to my current site?

And, i really have no idea what does it mean by use link names in link details URL and so....

Ok, i think there is too much templates to change if i switch to 3.2.6. Is there any way to just mod-rewrite the comments thread in 3.15 to become keyword based?

Actually i do not know how to edit the comments pages anymore because the changes i made in viewcomments and details will not take effect. I ticked the combine details and comments pages option.
